Fiorentina are reportedly looking to sign Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onzai in hopes of strengthening their midfield.
The 20-year-old has become a vital part of the Biancocelesti squad since starting his professional career with them in 2012 and Viola coach Vincenzo Montella feels the youngster would be a great addition to his squad in their attempts to secure a Champions League position for next season.
According to LaLazioSiamoNoi.it, Montella has asked the Gigliati executives to pursue the player during the upcoming January transfer window, while other reports also suggest that Onazi’s entourage have already been in contact with Fiorentina to discuss the player’s market availability.
One thing that could affect the Nigerian’s move to Florence, however, is the asking price set by Lazio president Claudio Lotito, as it’s expected to be around €15 million, with the club’s chief apparently turning down offers of around €8m over the summer.
Ogenyi Onazi has two assists in his 10 Serie A appearances so far this season.
