Fiorentina star set to return after getting medical clearance

Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez is set to return to action as he has been told that his ruptured knee ligament has completely healed.

The German international has been out of action since September 15 after picking up the injury against Cagliari.

The 28-year-old met with Dr. Francesco Giron on Monday and was told that his second degree lesion has completely healed, clearing the way for his return to action.

Gomez will gradually return to training with the first team starting on Tuesday in hopes of calling him to the Viola’s squad for their match against Udinese.

The German has two goals in three league appearances for the club this season.
